Syria army reaches Iraq border

TEHRAN, June 10, YJC - Continuing progress towards Daesh positions Syrian army forces succeeded to reach Al-tanaf pathway near Iraq’s border.
 
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - According to Reuters, a commeder of Syrian army announced on Friaday that the country’s army forces have reached Iraq’s borders, combating against terrorists in the desaerts of Southeast Syria.
 
This progress of Syrian government forces as well as pro-government militants is taking place in a time when the tensions between the US and Syrian government on taking dominance over the country’s southeast borders is escalating.
 
The commander said that the first army units have reached near the Al-tanaf borders between Iraq and Syria.
 
This border area is of immense importance for Syrian army in such a way that the army’s dominance over it has turn to a great concern for the US and its allies in the region.
 
Syria’s Al-tanaf pathway and Iraq’s Alvalid pathway in Al-anbar coborder. The latter was freed from Daesh terrorists in 2016 August, by Al-anbar’s nomads, a group known as "Deseret Eagles” who cooperate with Iraqi government.
