TEHRAN, June 16, YJC - An Iranian parliament member said US new sanctions against Iran are violating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Iran MP: New US sanctions violates JCPOATEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Hossein Naghavi-Hosseini, who is also a member of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said the JCPOA is binding.

"Given approving a plan of comprehensive sanctions on Iran in the US Senate, the government should counteract and do properly. Because this US Senate act openly runs counter to the JCPOA,” he said.

He also continued that what Senate Committee on Foreign Relations discussed in the US Senate is not a normal legal sanction on Iran, but it is a comprehensive plan which provides the ground for further sanctions on Iran and does not need legal act because it will be implemented by US president’s order.

The Iranian lawmaker said that the JCPOA is an "international and binding agreement”, it is a political commitment which is binding. "If one of the parties refuses to fulfill its commitments to the deal, different moves have been stipulated in the text of the JCPOA.”

He further said that the US senate act is openly violating the JCPOA and its spirit.
