Iran rejects allegations raised by Tajik filmTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran rejects unfounded allegations raised in a film shown in a Tajik TV channel on August 8. There is no doubt that producers of the film will not succeed in damaging cultural and civilization links and historic friendship between the two nations of Iran and Tajikistan,” the embassy said in a statement.

Allegations have been posed in the film by imprisoned people and quoted by people not living anymore and therefore, it cannot be regarded as reliable remarks it read.

The historical memory of great Tajik nation remembers well that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been one of the guarantors of peace in Tajikistan and hosted talks among involved parties, playing a constructive role to end civil war in Tajikistan in 1990s, the statement read.

It also said that Iran has build a strategic tunnel, dam, power plant and hospital in Tajikistan, offered medical aid to poor Tajik people, established sports centers, reconstructed historical sites, educated Tajik youth, established and facilitated dozens of technical training centers in this country which only meant helping stability and independence and sustainable developments in the country.

The statement further said that Iran is one of the biggest victims of terrorism. “Performance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in battle against terrorism is clear for people in the world.”
