Tehran, YJC. Ahmad Tavakoli says he regrets the fact that there is no other way but to increase the energy carriers prices.

In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Ahmad Tavakoli, Member of the Plan and Budget Committee of the Majlis, said "I have to regret the fact that we are going to make energy carriers 30 percent more expensive. When we are at the point of no return and on the other side the government went some of the way in the wrong direction, there is no other way but to patch things up.”

Asked about his opinion on the government’s unfavorable regards for the new bill where energy carriers will go up in price, Tavakoli said "The government would say previously that with $120 thousand billion a year it wanted to quadruple the price of energy carriers, where we in the Majlis opposed this decision and said that the country could not bear that.”

He added "We must ask the government how is it that when they wanted to quadruple the price there would have been no shock, but now that it’s going to increase only 30 percent, that is, one third, country will be shocked?”
