Tehran, YJC. The Reform wing has assigned a workgroup to announce the Reform electoral representative in a few days.

Mohammadali Najafi, spokesman of the Reform coalition workgroup, said in a news conference on Sunday that currently two public currents play a major part in the elections, one being the Reform movement bearing Khatami as their sign, and the other being the moderate movement represented by Hashemi.

Najafi added "Right now we need to unite. Our original choice was Hashemi, but for the position adopted by the Guardian Council our mutual candidate was canceled out.

He added that for their mode of thought and administrative record, Aref and Rohani are the two choices available to represent the movement.

Najafi then stated "Yesterday Mr. Khatami and a number of the country’s political elite negotiated about the issue and formed a workgroup of 7 with the duty to hold talks with the two candidates and prepare the ground for a coalition.”

He also said that a wide range of evaluative methods will be used to make out the fittest for representing the Reform movement and that on the following Saturday the result will be publically announced.
