Iran rejects UAE, Kuwait allegations on trio islands

TEHRAN, September 14 - Iran rejected remarks of the UAE and Kuwait on three southern islands as baseless, saying that such positions have been resulted from political motivations and lack of perception of historical realities.

Iran rejects UAE, Kuwait allegations on trio islandsTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi also condemned a statement issued in the 146th Arab League ministerial meeting held in in Cairo.

“It seems that repeating these outdated allegations given the tense situation in the Arab League meeting has come to derail the public opinion from realities,” he said in response to Kuwaiti representative's remarks in the Arab League meeting.

He then added that the statement means clear meddling in internal affairs of other countries.

“We categorically condemn and reject such claims on Iranian islands,” Qassemi said.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman also said such unwise positions would deepen rift among regional countries and causes delay in meaningful regional cooperation.
