Tehran, YJC. Velayati has said in his last electoral meeting that he will stay on until the end of elections.
Speaking to fans on the last day of his electoral campaign, Aliakbar Velayati on Wednesday provided comments on rumors regarding his resignation from candidacy, saying "Important news, please pay attention! Important news, please pay attention! Important news, please pay attention! Despite all the rumors and unethical behavior directed at me in the past few days, I will stay on as candidate to the end.”
Velayati pointed to the Supreme Leader’s New Year speech and his guidelines regarding the political breakthrough and said that if he is elected President he will pursue the goal within the framework of law and the Leader’s demands.
He asserted "We will stand against the monopolist, but our resistance will be a well-thought one.”
Velayati then addressed the Basij forces and said "We will support the efforts of the Basij and all those who have been there during the construction and the Holy War, those who have always been there to defend the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
"I will make effort to promote the Islamic culture and Iranian identity. Abidance to the law and the Leadership will be the most important characteristics of my administration and ethicality will be a code of conduct for us,” he promised.
