Iran welcomes boosting defense, military ties with Pakistan, says Rouhani

TEHRAN, November 6 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the country welcomes expanding mutual defense and military cooperation with Pakistan.

Iran welcomes boosting ties with Pakistan in defense, military fields, says RouhaniTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Bilateral defense and military cooperation (between Iran and Pakistan) should be expanded along with bilateral ties in economic, political and cultural fields,” he said in a meeting with Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa here in Tehran on Monday.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is resolute to have strengthened, brotherly and friendly ties with neighboring countries, including Pakistan. No doubt such ties are demanded by the two countries whose deep relationship is beyond political ties between the two sides,” Rouhani said.

He noted that Iran and Pakistan can expand mutual educational activities and joint drills, cooperation in military industries and sharing experiences.

Qamar Javed Bajwa, for his part, said his country is after expanding military and defense ties with Iran along with bilateral economic and historical ties.

“We are resolute to expand ties with Iran in all fields.”
