Tehran, YJC. Assistant coach says that rarely anyone has helped Iran’s football as the Korea assistant coach and former player Choi Duck-Joo.
Iran national team assistant coach Alierza Mansourian said in an interview with ISNA regarding the quarrel between Carlos Queiroz and Choi Duck-Joo "The quarrel between Choi and Carlos ended in our favor. Carlos won the psychological war which Choi had started.”
Mansourian said "I think that Choi was one of the most effective people on our football. In 1996 when he received 6 goals from us, he played as defense for Korea back then, also the late Qayeqran would pass him.”
"He has been of much impact on our football this way or that,” he added "when he started the psychological war thinking he would win he had no idea that he stood before an experienced figure like Carlos, to whom the whole world listen.”
Mansourian also told of how he went out of his way to poke his nose into the South Korean’s private training session and said "If they had arrested me on the South Korean’s training session they could suspend me for two to three years for the legal position I hold in the -23 year team.”
He added "Believe me, I climbed the stadium walls where South Koreans had their training. It was for the flag, so I’m proud of what I’ve done, although there was no logic behind it. It was a thriller. I was climbing a stadium wall where there were 50 guards at the first floor and 20 at the second. Carlos himself was spellbound how I planted the equipment and filmed the training from above the guards’ head. In that meeting I said ‘Mr. Nabi, what would have happened if they suspended me?’ I was happy only because I was doing it for my country.”
He said
"I had changed my appearance. I was wearing a hat. I looked like a tourist. I liked
my own look.”
