TEHRAN, November 10 - Iranian embassy to London blasted remarks made by UK Middle East Minister Alistair Burt on Iran’s role in Yemeni crisis.

Iran slams UK official’s remarks on YemenTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “This is so surprising that UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has referred to a report by military coalition led by Saudi Arabia that the recent missile fired toward Saudi Airport, and has called for a positive role by the Islamic Republic of Iran in Yemeni crisis,” the embassy said in a statement.

The statement said that killing defenseless women and children, innocent Yemenis and destroying infrastructure of Yemen have all done by the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia using weapons and systems produced by some western countries, including UK and were provided to Saudi Arabia and led to massive killing of innocent people and spread of cholera, famine and other diseases.

The statement also condemned the recent move by the coalition which imposed a complete seizure on Yemen and closed all routes of transportation which has hindered sending human aid to the affected people.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stressed ending slaughter of innocent people and Yemeni crisis as soon as possible.”

The statement also called on UK and other countries exporting weapons to state members of the coalition to block sending the weapons to help ceasing military attacks and destruction of Yemeni infrastructure.

Iran also stresses establishing ceasefire and inviting involved sides in Yemen to reach a political solution through dialogue, it read.
