Quran contest for women planned in Baghdad

TEHRAN, November 13 - A competition on memorization and recitation of the Quran for women is planned to be held in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad next month.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The al-Iraqiya Quranic Institute, affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of al-Kadhimiya holy shrine will organize the contest under the title of ‘al-Risala al-Muhammadiya (mission of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)), Qaaf news agency reported.

It will be held on the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) birth anniversary, which falls in early December.

Participants will compete on memorization of the first and last five Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran.

Girls and women of all ages can take part in this category.

There is another category, namely recitation of the Quran, for girls and women aged 15 to 45.

Registration for the competition has started and will continue until November 27.
