TEHRAN, November 13 - EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini said that Iranian nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), would not be discussed in the EU Foreign Affairs Council session.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The session is held on Tuesday.
“It is a historic day for European defense. Today, we will launch a new page for European defense and I think this will be the news of the day,” she told reporters ahead of the meeting.
The EU foreign ministers, together with EU defense ministers will also discuss the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg the new security cooperation which she said “is advancing extremely well.”
She said that she would update the EU ministers of her contact with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif which came a few days ago in Samarkand and also with American officials during her recent visit to Washington.
She also expressed solidarity with victims of a strong earthquake that struck Iran and Iraq on Sunday and offered EU’s support in any way considered useful.
At least 450 people have been killed and 6,000 injured in the quake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale.
