Tehran, YJC. Naval official says that the country’s latest domestic gunship is going to be used in drills on Wednesday.

Rear Admiral Qolamreza Biqam said in an interview with Tasnim that the country’s latest gunship which belongs to the "Kaman” class is going to be used on Wednesday in a series of naval drills.

Biqam pointed out "The new gunships will be used as needed in the north and south of the country.”

He added "The latest example of these warships was the Darafsh gunship which was slipped into the Caspian Sea.”

"Right now the latest Iranian gunship from the ‘Kaman’ class is fully operational. With these warships, the Navy will complete its defense cycle in the southern areas of the country, including the Gulf of Oman, over Makran coastline, and the northern Indian Ocean, as well as in the north of Iran and the Caspian Sea,” he further said.

Biqam regarded the gunship as coming with unique features such as multifunctionality and the ability to cope with surface and air attacks.
