$2.7 bln foreign investment approved for Iran’s industry, mine projects: Minister

TEHRAN, December 19 - Iran has approved $2.7 billion foreign investment in industry and mining sectors since the 12th government in Iran in August.

$2.7 bln foreign investment approved for Iran’s industry, mine projects: MinisterTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “$2.7 billion foreign investment has been approved after the 12th government and has been signed into law for investors in mine and industry,” said Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariat-Madari.

Out of $7.4 billion foreign investment attracted in the 11th government in Iran (August 2013-August 2017), 64 percent has belonged to industry and mine sectors, he noted.

“Finance and machinery are being transferred to Iran so that we can witness foreign investment in various industrial fields in the country,” he said.

The minister said that Iran has created a special sector in the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade to support foreign investment.
