Hashsemi says opressed-Africa has priority in Iran’s foreign policy

Tehran,YJC. Ayatollah Hashemi has said that Iran will strengthen bonds with African countries.

In meeting with Sierra Leone Minister of Foreign Affairs Samura Kamara on Tuesday morning, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani said "Strengthening bonds with African countries is the Islamic Republic’s ideal policy which will not be influenced by circumstances and political ups and downs.”

Pointing out the Islamic Republic of Iran’s criteria in foreign policy, Hashemi asserted "The oppressed African continent is prioritized in our foreign policy.”

Providing comments on the presence of the Iranian Red Crescent and Construction Jihad in African countries during the Construction Administraiton, he added "The government and nation of Sierra Leone may be sure that the weaknesses of previous terms in mutual relations will be compensated.”

Samura Kamara in turn pointed out the establishment of the Sierra Leonean embassy to Iran during the Construction Administration and called Ayatollah Rafsanjani the founder of mutual relations between the two countries. "The Sierra Leonean government and nation will not forget your help,” he asserted.

"We have passed civil wars and need reconstruction,” he pointed out, "the doors of our country’s foreign policy are always open to Iran, and we need the help and guidance of our brothers in the Islamic Republic.”
