US’s militarism and avarice to be reacted: FM Spox.

TEHRAN, February 5 - World’s countries will react to the US’s militarism and avarice since its a threat to global peace and security.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -Referring to the presence of US in Iraq, Ghassemi said “Iraq is an independent country specifying its own policies by itself, wherein the presence of foreign countries is in contrast with Iraq’s interest and must no longer continue. Such issues are within the Iraqi government and nation’s authority”.

Experiences, he added, have shown that the US’s presence in the region brings undesirable consequences for the region’s people.

Ghassemi also pointed out to the US’s new policy on nuclear weapons, saying that the country’s militarism and avarice was a threat to global peace, and that the world’s countries would react to it.

About the US sentencing o a former consultant to Iran’s envoy in UN, the FM Spokesman said the charges against Ahmad Sheikhzadeh, Iran-born US citizen, were “unacceptable” and “baseless.”

Sheikhzadeh was sentenced to three months in prison on Friday for “evading taxes.” Speaking to reporters after the hearing, he called the prison sentence “very unfair,” according to MNA.

In another part of his remarks, the diplomat referred to Macrons future trip to Iran and rejected Macron's conditions for a visit to Iran, saying Iran has shown its demeanor over the past four decades and proposing such conditions are something abnormal and politically unacceptable.

“US is dissatisfied with Iran-EU relations so it is trying to put pressure on European counties lead them in line with its interests” Ghassemi said referring to the West’s proposals of discussing about Iran’s missile program.

He added “we have not officially received anything from the European Union on the missile program, yet we explain our own views and We'll hear theirs, but this is different from what is presented in their media”.

Also with regard to Turkey’s activities in Syria’s Arin, Ghasemi said Turkey must stop its operations in Syria and respect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, pursuing its objectives through Astana talks procedure.
