Tehran, YJC. Jazayeri says that Syria is a red line to the US, which it knows it must not trespass.

Tasnim news agency reports Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri, Deputy of Basij Affairs and Defense Culture of the General Staff of Armed Forces, saying in reaction to some Western officials on military intervention in Syria "The current terrorist war in Syria is the result of US planning and programming as well as regional reaction against resistance. In spite of the enemy’s vast front, the Syrian government and nation have not only withstood the vast invasions, they have gained good victories.”

"Right now, the Syrian government and nation have the upper hand in the imposed terrorist war by arrogance and reactionaries. The Western media propaganda is due to Syrian victories over its enemies,” he asserted.

Armed Forces General Staff Deputy stated "Each of the allies of US and Zionist regime have faced problems in terrorist war against Syria. Those who contribute to the fire will not be immune from the vengeance of nations.”

Pointing to in-field changes in the ongoing battles in Syria, Jazayeri said "Today the Syrian opposition has reached a level of maturity when the arrogance front cannot defeat it.”

"The US knows the limits of the Syrian red line. Trespassing the Syrian red line of any kind will have serious consequences for the White House.”

A year ago US President Barack Obama warned the use of chemical weapons in Syria would cross a "red line" and have "enormous consequences", Al-Ahram reports.

On Sunday, his Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel said the US military was ready to take action against Syria, the Egyptian newspaper adds.
