Tehran, YJC. Member of Tehran City Council says that most of his colleagues would like Qalibaf to remain the Mayor of Tehran.

In an interview with Fars, Eqbal Shakeri provided comments on the diversity of choices available to be elected as the mayor of Tehran and said "The representatives of the people of Tehran will elect their desired person for the mayorship of Tehran based on record and approach.”

He added "Among the top options for mayorship is Mr. Qalibaf. The two Principalist and Reformist parties believe in Qalibaf’s good performance in different periods, especially when in the municipality.”

He maintained "One of the reasons why the representatives of the people of Tehran have a favorable idea of Qalibaf to remain in the municipality is his record and methodical approach.”

He added "The Tehran representatives believe that a non-political figure must be working in the Municipality of Tehran. Qalibaf has shown in the previous period to be a capable, non-political official.”

"Besides Mohammadbaqer Qalibaf, there are other options such as Mehralizadeh, Rostam Qasemi, Nikzad, Ebtekar, and others. So far Qalibaf has gained most points,” he further said.
