IME trading hits 453 thousand tons late February

TEHRAN, February 24 - Approximately 453,132 MT of commodities worth over $227.3 million were traded in Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on the last week of February.

IME trading hits 453 thousand ton late FebruaryTEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - According to the report from IME International Affairs and PR, last week, on the domestic and export metal and mineral trading floor of IME, $216,241 MT of various products worth close to 98.4 million were traded.

On this trading floor, 110,000 MT of iron ore, 84,451 MT of steel products, 13,890 MT of copper, 1,670 MT of aluminum, 5,000 MT of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), 230 MT of molybdenum concentrates, 50 CERATO made cars, 4,000 MT of cement as well as 20 kg of gold bullion were traded.

The report declares that on domestic and export oil and petrochemical trading floors of IME, 184,276 MT of different commodities with the total value of $109.4 million were traded.

On this trading floor, more than 67,504 MT of bitumen, 37,633 MT of polymer products, 30,810 MT of VB feed stock as well as 14,000 MT of lube-cut oil, 19,481 MT of chemical products, 11,610 MT of sulfur, 550 MT of insulation, 1,400 MT of slaps waxes and 1,288 MT of heavy paraffin wax were traded.

Moreover, on the agricultural trading floor of IME, 50,603 MT of various commodities worth over $12.4 million were traded. On this trading floor, 46,400 MT of wheat, 102,000 day old chicks, 3,927 MT of maize, 100 MT of crude vegetable oil as well as 75 MT of sugar were traded by customers.

It is worth noting that during this week; the side market of IME witnessed trading of 1,005 MT of frozen meat, 500 MT of metal scrap, 477 MT of steel scrap and 30 MT of polyester threads grade WP.
