Tehran, YJC. Safavi has said the Basij is Iran’s option to fight all sorts of threat, as well as an inspiration for anti-arrogance movements.
Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, speaking at a conference held on the occasion of the Basij Week in Tehran said "The support of the Basij is the guarantee for security and the comprehensive defense of Iran.”
He added "National power means the government and people’s ability in using tangible and intangible sources, human as well as natural facilities, according to their respective political system, in order to exert influence on regional and international equations and win victories to gain national interest and security.”
He added "Iran is the communication axis for Europe to Asia, Africa to Asia, and north to south. Right now Iran’s political and cultural influence has increased. Let the great powers know that Iran is the key and that it can define the equations of South-west Asia and that in this region, it is Iran that guarantees and the Islamic Republic of Iran is the heavy tray in this region, and Americans know that.”
"Some think that the US has contained the Islamic Awakening. If they could contain the Islamic Republic, they will be able also to contain the Islamic awakening. The Islamic awakening is not stoppable,” he emphasized.
The consultant to the Supreme Leader further said "Basij is Iran’s option on the table in fighting all sorts of hypothetic threat by the enemies. It is the inspiration for fighting international arrogance and Zionism, held up to the people of Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, and all freedom-seekers everywhere in the world."
