Tehran, YJC. In their attempts to bring the legislative body in tune with the government, Reformists are trying to adjure the grandson of Imam Khomeini into candidacy for the Majlis.

A number of Reform activists have asked the grandson of Imam Khomeini, Seyyed Hassan, to run for parliamentary membership, Mosalas Online reports.

After joining up with generally considered moderate entities to find a place in the 11th administration, members of the Reform party are girding their loins for the parliamentary elections as well as those of the Assembly of Experts.

A number of seasoned Reform activists have recently petitioned Seyyed Hassan Khomeini to consider signing up for the parliamentary elections.

Hassan has been busy furthering his Islamic studies in Qom for a number of years.

The report goes that the Reform figures have even asked Seyyed Hassan to take the Ijtihad ( the state of being a religious reference) exam if the Assembly of Experts demands so, in order that there would be no problem against his candidacy for the assembly membership.

It has to be pointed out that so far no answer has been given to the requests.
