Tehran, YJC. Maestro Mashayekhi will act as Iran’s representative of peace and friendship to meet Lionel Messi following improper comments addressed at the Argentinean legend.
Senior theater and cinema actor Jamshid Mashayekhi says he has been asked by Iranian authorities to meet the Argentitean soccer player Lionel Messi following bad-mannered comments on Messi’s Facebook wall by some Iranian users.
Mashayekhi said that the trip was suggested to him by the Esteghlal F.C. CEO Ali Fathollahzadeh last week.
"The trip has been offered to me and I accepted it with pleasure, but the grounds have to be laid in order for the objective to be gained,” he asserted.
He added that if able to visit Messi "I will tell him that with what some people have done a whole nation’s dignity is attacked and in fact Iranians are insulted.”
Following the World Cup draw where Iran and Argentina were assigned to the same group, a barrage of indecent comments was directed at Messi’s page on Facebook.
