TEHRAN, YJC. Head of IRIB has said that with every new channel launched based on the people's needs, the West worries more.
The inauguration ceremony for Tamasha and Salamat channels was held with Mr. Ahmadinejad, Zarghami, Hoseini, Minister of Culture, and a host of others on Saturday.
Zarghami in his speech in the ceremony provided comments on the satellite programs as people's favorite and said "People watching satellite programs don't go for news programs but rather look for television series and entertainment.”
He added "The Islamic Republic of Iran has conveyed public opinion polls and, using its experience, it has launched the new channels in service of the people.”
He also said "50% of the people and foreign professors watch drama programs. The Islamic Republic has conducted measures accordingly and experts have also helped us.”
