Tehran, YJC. Overseeing committee member says if the proper application is provided to remove undesirable pages, social websites will be unblocked.

The Criminal Case Determination Committee is a body which decides what content on the internet is improper to be given access to in Iran. It is responsible for the ban of allegedly harmful websites which include social ones from Facebook to Youtube to Twitter.

Ramazan Ali Sobhanifar committee member in interview with the Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency said that if "immoral” pages can be removed, access to social websites will be granted.

"We will try to give people access to those parts of social websites which can be used. Then we will remove those parts to which there is harm content and which are in disagreement to our culture,” he asserted.

He further stated that a technical workgroup is being formed to investigate the possibility and circumstances of intelligent filtering.
