Tehran, YJC. Former Syrian Information Minister says the Saudi Arabian plan to end armed clash in Syria has been done in arrangement with the US.

Speaking in interview with Fars news agency, the former Syrian Minister of Information Mahdi Dakhlallah said "The Geneva2 will surely lay some grounds for the future. The Syrian government delegation was a high-ranking one. That is why real negotiations took place between the Syrian ruling system representatives and Western countries, not the opposition.”

He maintained that the resumption of diplomatic relations between European countries and Syria is one of the signs that the Geneva2 talks have been successful, adding "If that happens, it will mean that the Geneva2 has been successful in fighting terrorism.”

Pointing to the Saudi Arabian initiative to end armed combat in Syria Dakhlallah said "Saudi Arabia was never expected more than that. No doubt the plan has been checked with the United States. But it cannot be of much importance, since what matters is the Russia-US agreements.”
