Tehran, YJC. India's National Security consultant has welcomed Iran's Shamkhani on a trip to be made soon to New Delhi.

Mohammad Javad Zarif has had a number of side meetings as he is attending the Munich Security Conference.

First of these meetings was held with the Indian National Security Advisor Shivshankar- Menon.

In this meeting the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the need for the two countries to expand economic cooperation as a regionally influential start.

The Chabahar economic zone and India’s cooperation in investment as well as strengthening technical bonds between Tehran and New Delhi were the other issues that the two officials discussed.

India’s National Security Advisor stressed his country’s willingness to strengthen bonds with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Chabahar zone and the positive impacts of the cooperation on regional peace and stability.

Shivshankar also stated that his country will welcome his Iranian counterpart Ali Shamkhani on a visit to New Delhi.

Beside the Indian National Security Advisor, Zarif also held meetings with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister and the German Parliament’s Head of Committee on Foreign Affairs.
