Tehran, YJC. Iran’s Ambassador to the UN has said terrorist groups are the major hindrance to the peace process in Syria.

Iran’s Ambassador to the United Naitons Mohammad Khazaee speaking before the General Assembly expressed deep sorrow over human catastrophe in Syria and urged the international community to help end the crisis.

Pointing to 2.5 million Syrian refugees now in other countries he said "We all thank the efforts by UN-related organizations to soothe the pains of the Syrian people, but no one points to the origin of all this trouble.”

Addressing the head of the assembly he pointed out that Iran has been actively engaged in gathering human aid for Syrians.

In answer to the Saudi Arabian representative who accused Iran of interference with the affairs of Syria, Khazaee said "All the countries interfering with the Syrian crisis, especially Saudi Arabia, must be asked to abandon their support for extremist, armed forces in Syria and to remove these forces from the country.”
