Reformist presidential candidate to run for parliament

Tehran, YJC. Mohammad Reza Aref says he is fully determined to make it to the parliament in the upcoming elections.

Less than a year ago he was running for the presidential along with 7 other statesmen. But Mohammad Reza Aref who resigned in favor of Hassan Rouhani just a few days before the elections day says he is determined to run for the parliament of Iran, the Majlis.

Aref who was the Reform wing’s hope for the 2013 presidential election has recently stated that he will surely be pursuing his way into the legislative body.

In case he does so he is sure to have the full support of reform lovers who were much dismayed as he stepped off the presidential campaign of 2013.

A couple of weeks ago he said to reporters "Surely and very definitely I will be running in the upcoming elections of the Majlis.”

Asked if he will make the head of the Reform list of candidates he sufficed to only saying that he will be surely one of the candidates.

Jafar Tofighi, Consultant to the Minister of Science, on the same day said that Aref was preparing his list.

On Wednesday this week when he was giving a speech at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Aref said "Victory is not far away for Reformists.”
