Iran’s National Company of Petrochemical Industries Chief Operating Officer says that one of the country’s biggest petrochemical factories is being built in the western province of Luristan, Mehr News Agency reports.

Mohammad Hassan Peyvandi stated "As the 15 and 16th phases of the South Pars are completed and the Kavian petrochemicals food is going to be available, food for the 300-thousand-ton petrochemicals of Luristan is also going to be procured.”

The factory is going through its final stages. There are small problems which will be solved in cooperation with the Customs and the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade.”

Peyvandi further added that next week there will be joint meetings with officials in Sanandaj and Mahabad to pursue the progress of petrochemical projects in these two cities.

"To pursue the problems to open the Asaluyeh project LCs whose Chinese finance is finalized is the other item on agenda which we are closely following,” he maintained.
