Tehran, YJC. Germany's Ambassador to Iran says insecure Afghanistan to trouble Iran's eastern borders with smugglers.
Germany's Ambassador to Iran Michael von Ungern-Sternberg said that lack of stability in Afghanistan will give Iran much trouble fighting drugs.

"We all have to try to secure Afghanistan," he said following his visit to Iran's eastern borders, adding that in regard to the harvesting of drugs in Afghanistan "The roots of the problem have to be found out so that comprehensive approaches might be adopted to deal with it."

"Germany has always been active in relation to Afghanistan. It has for a number of times hosted the Afghanistan conference, in which Iran has taken partvery actively," he maintained.

Sternberg further said "Iran is a great help to Germany in fighting drugs. Fighting drugs is not just about borders and troopers, we must rather help make a secure Afghanistan."
