TEHRAN, YJC. -- Iran moved up a spot in the latest FIFA rankings to stand 48th in the world, Iran Daily reported on Satuday.
Iran gained 563 points to stand behind Japan as the second in Asia, followed by Uzbekistan, Jordan and South Korea.
Iran finished fourth in Group F of the 2014 World Cup after two losses against Argentina and Bosnia and a draw against Nigeria.
World Cup winner Germany stay atop followed by Argentina and the Netherlands.
