‘More by-laws needed for Iran Chamber to do well’

Tehran, YJC. A member of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture board of representatives said the body is in need of new laws.

The chamber has to play a major role under the present circumstances of the country which would not happen unless in the first step the laws concerning it are changed, Masoud Daneshmand added.

in accordance with Article 44, he remarked, ceding all enterprise activities to the private sector is necessary and the regulations concerning the chamber must be changed as such a capacity for the activities of the private sector and its responsibilities will be considered by the law.

Stressing that the chamber's by-laws is not complete, the official said that its legal capacities are limited at the moment and its capacity is not in accordance with the advanced countries.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Mehdi Rasekh, another member of the chamber, said the chamber shows a very good performance in the course of sanctions, adding that due to sanctions oil production and exports were reduced and oil revenues dropped but exports of the private sector multiplied and all the money was received.

Also, spokesman of the Great Coalition of the Chamber, Abolfazl Roghani Golpayegani stated: "Our path is the path of moderation and use of legal capacities.”

So far over 160 economic activists, including members of the Great Coalition, have enrolled for the forthcoming elections of the chamber which is to be held March 9.
