TEHRAN – The commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base has lauded the achievements made by Iran in manufacturing highly sophisticated radars, announcing that the country is installing a radar that will be able to monitor enemy bases as far as 3,000 kilometers away.
"With 3,000-kilometer-range Sepehr radar, we can detect the enemies’ breath inside their bases,” Farzad Esmaili said on Sunday.

The general said installation of the radar is 40 percent complete, adding that the project is underway without any problem.

The long-range radar, which can intercept ballistic and cruise missiles, helps Iran exercise "defense in depth” and shields the country’s sky against threats, he added.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations, especially regional neighbors, that its military capability poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence.
