Iran deploys S-200 systems in a bid to accomplish pre-determined scenarios on the second day of a drill code-named Modafean Aseman Velayat 7 (The Defenders of Velayat Skies 7) on Tuesday.

Moreover, vast operations of offensive electronic war to deviate drones of hostile forces were successfully conducted using electronic jammers and ground-based communications.

Spokesman of the drill, Abbas Faraj-Pour noted that crisis management and defense operations to manage any unnatural situation in the war game area as well as rescue operations, thwarting ammunitions and fire fighting were also conducted in the operation.

Iran’s Army and the Aerospace Division of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) employed their radar systems in a joint air defense drill underway in southern parts of the country.

During the second stage of the large-scale exercise various radar systems were tested by the Army and IRGC on Tuesday.

They were used to determine the range, angle, and velocity of designated targets.
In addition, geocentric electronic and communication jammers were used to divert mock belligerent drones.

The second stage of the drill also focused on practicing intelligence gathering during reconnaissance missions and capturing aerial footage from designated targets in the sea using reconnaissance drones.

Involving more than 17,000 military forces, the war game covers an area of 496,000 square kilometers in Iran’s southern areas, mainly the provinces of Hormozgan, Bushehr and Khuzestan.

The Air Defense has employed a broad range of equipment, including tactical radars, mobile watch posts, and ground-based and air-based eavesdropping systems.

According to officials, the exercise has set a record in the tactical mobility of armed forces, after the rapid deployment of radar and missile systems, artillery units, as well as communication and electronic warfare systems to the operation zone.
