Iran, Turkmenistan to sign new gas dealThe Iranian delegation led by Deputy Oil Minister and Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Hamid-Reza Araghi visited Turkmenistan on Wednesday for discussing gas exports to Iran.

The delegation was about to leave the Central Asian country due to Turkmenistan’s excessive demands, but Ashgabat finally withdrew from its positions, announcing that it is ready for new agreement with Iran and accepts Iran’s conditions.

Turkmenistan returned the Iranian delegation from Ashgabat Airport.

The final gas deal would be signed between Tehran and Ashgabat Friday night in case it is finalized by Turkmenistan President.

Based on the new deal, Turkmenistan would be bound not to make any delay in gas exports to Iran.
