Iran unveiled the first indigenous advanced tank in a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan on Sunday.
The production line of the system was also unveiled simultaneously."The advanced tank named ‘Karrar’ unveiled today is of considerable capabilities and functions and can play an important role in defense strategy. It is a great example of high intelligence, exemplary creativity and fantastic capability made by craftsmen in Iranian Defense Industry,” Dehghan said in the unveiling ceremony.
He said the tank is capable of meeting needs of the armed forces in a satisfactory way.
The tank can compete with the most advanced tanks of the world in fire power and precision, mobility, protection and durability in the battle field.
According to Dehghan, the system is equipped with electro-optical fire control system, laser range-finder, ballistic computer and is capable of shooting mobile and fixed targets in night and day.
It can pass across puddles and rivers and move underwater, he noted.
