FAQ

  1. Internet connection won't be enabled when screen on or only works sometimes?

This might be caused by task killer app killing this app's service, if you have a task killer app installed, please add this app to task killer's ignore list so it won't be killed. This problem may also happen when you are in a low signal environment, the phone takes longer (couple minutes) to register with the data network and restore the Internet connection.

  2. Streaming music will stop if 2x Battery is enabled.

2x Battery won't disconnect the Internet connection when whitelisted apps are running. If you listen to streaming audio in the background, please add the streaming app to the whitelist by Settings > Misc. power-saving options > Whitelist.

Don't add VOIP apps (Skype, Viber) or message apps (GTalk, Whatsapp) to the whitelist. Since they run in the background all the time, adding them to the whitelist will stop 2x to turn on/off the Internet connection, which won't save any battery.

  3. Skype app will stop if 2x Battery is enabled.

When you turn off the screen, 2x Battery starts to monitor the data activity and will disconnect the Internet connection if there is no more data activity. If there is still data activity over the Internet after a few minutes, this app will force disconnect the Internet connection to save the battery, which will stop VOIP apps. If you use Internet telephony apps, e.g. Skype or Viber, please turn off the "Force close bg connection" option by going to Settings > Misc. power-saving options.

  4. Some apps did not sync the data after I installed this app.

This app extends battery life by periodically switch on/off the Internet connection. If other apps try to synchronize the data during the data connection off period, it will not sync. Specifying a smaller enable interval value may reduce the disruption.

  5. Do you support app 2 sd?

No, app 2 sd is not enabled by default. If you install this app on the SD card, it may not work anymore. This is the limitation of Android.

  6. The estimated battery run out time is not accurate.

Android devices do not provide battery run out time information. The estimated battery run out time is calculated based on the information of how you used the phone in last one hour. This information is for your information only.

  7. Failed to uninstall 2x Battery from the device?

This problem happens if you turned on the "Auto screen off" option. Please first turn off the Install option by going to Settings > Utilities > Auto screen off > Install before uninstalling this app.

If it does not work, please go to Launcher > MENU > Settings > Location & security > Select device administrators > uncheck "Auto screen off"

  8. The auto screen off function is too sensitive

The auto screen off function uses the proximity sensor (located near the earpiece on top of the phone) to detect if it's covered by an object. The screen will be turned off if the proximity sensor is covered for a duration of time. You can lower the sensitivity by increasing the "Covered time" option.

  9. Why can't I check the Airplane option for night mode?

Starting from Android 4.2, Android prohibits 3rd party apps from accessing Airplane mode option so all toggling airplane mode functions are disabled if you are using a Android 4.2 or greater device. If you are using a rooted device, 2x can still help to toggle Airplane mode option after you grant the root permission to 2x.

  10. Why does 2x require the root permission?

First of all, 2x does not require the root permission on most devices. But some devices prohibit 3rd party apps from accessing mobile data, airplane mode and some more options. To help you to save battery, 2x only requires the root permission on such devices.
