TEHRAN, YJC. The Lawmaker has said that regardless of its truth or falsity, what Moslehi said lately about Hashemi’s hand in the 09 sedition was not appropriate to the Minister’s position.

Tehran Representative in the Majlis, Ahmad Tavakoli said "One who has the responsibility of presiding over the Intelligence Ministry surely knows that to take political stances is prohibited for the Minister according to article 2 of the rules of the Ministry, established in 1984.”

He added "My position regarding Mr. Hashemi, though, is a historical one and every one knows about it. I am also one of the major critics of Mr. Hshemi Rafsanjani, but the Intelligence Minister’s duty is to maintain security and peace in society and he must avoid statements and adopting positions that smell of politics.”

"The Intelligence Minister’s recent statements about the Head of the Expediency Council bear a certain amount of political interpretation and are, by the way, in contrast to the Supreme Leader’s stance toward Mr. Hshemi. It would be better if the Minister of Intelligence would avoid political side-takings,” Tavakoli said.
