Simulated Murcia is born in Royan Institute

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Dr. Mahdi Hajian a member of the faculty of Royan Biotechnology Research Institute said “ with the two Saanen and Alpine goats simulated in the institute, we decided to simulate another goat of Murcia race”.

To simulated Murcia, Hajian explained, a sample of its ears tissue was used to extract its stem-cells that resulted in the birth of the third simulated goat in Royan Institute.
The goat was born a month ago and has been under care and examination until now, he said.

Noting that each of the three simulated race has its own characteristics, Hajian said that the Alpine and Saanen goats produce 3 to 4 kilograms milk per day, but the Murcia race produces 2 to 3 kilograms, yet is resistant to heat.
