Iran’s wheat exports rise by 6 folds

TEHRAN, January 15 - Iran has managed to preserve its self-sufficiency in wheat production with exports of the crop grew by 6 folds this year (started on March 21, 2017) comparing to similar period in the year before.

Iran’s wheat exports rise by 6 foldsTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iran’s wheat production grew by 1351 percent comparing to similar period in the year before, he said.

Iran has exported 276.410 tons wheat worth $70.780 million to various countries during the first 9 months of this year (March 21, 2017 – December 21, 2017), increasing by 1351.73 percent and 758.97 percent respectively in terms of weight and value.

Wheat is part of the itinerary for production of basic and strategic commodities under Iran’s “economy of resistance” blueprint which Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has proposed.
