TEHRAN, April 21 - Russian ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan said Iran's missile program has nothing to do with the country’s 2015 nuclear deal.

Iran’s missile program has nothing to do with JCPOA: Russian envoyTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “The missile program of the Islamic Republic of Iran which the west claims is destabilizing has nothing to do with Iran’s nuclear deal.”

“If Iran agrees to hold talks about these matters, I see a no problem but this is not possible without Tehran agreement.”

The deal is officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He also raised sorrow over the US anti- nuclear deal moves and said such measures raise the question that whether the US administration can we trusted.

He also referred to anti-nuclear deal policies of US president Donald Trump and said, “We have frequently said that we do not prefer revising text of the deal.”

Trump has repeatedly described the JCPOA, which was negotiated under his predecessor, Barack Obama, as “the worst and most one-sided transaction Washington has ever entered into” and threatened to tear it up.

In January, he decided to stick with the JCPOA, but gave the European signatories a May 12 deadline to “fix the terrible flaws” of the accord or he would withdraw Washington from the deal.

Other parties to the agreement, namely Russia, China, Britain, Germany and France, have all criticized Trump’s hostile views, saying the deal is sound and has proven to be functioning.
