Trump snaps at China, says China meddled in 2016 presidential election

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) When asked by CBS about Russia's interference in the 2016 election campaign, Donald Trump said "I think China meddled also. And I think, frankly, China […] is a bigger problem,".

In a radio interview also, US National Security Advisor John Bolton referred to China as the major concern of the 21st century for the United States on the ground that the Eastern country is growing in economy and military ereas.

Trump's accusations of election meddling come as the United States and China have become increasingly embroiled in a trade dispute that has seen the two sides impose tariffs on billions of dollars’ worth of goods.

New data shows China's exports to the US increased unexpectedly last month, producing a new trade surplus record with the world's leading economy.

US has also made a coalition, the Five Eyes alliance - grouping the United States, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia – to counter China.

The increased cooperation by the Five Eyes alliance started at the start of the year, with countries such as Germany and Japan, Reuters reported, citing seven officials in four capitals.
