TEHRAN, Feb 23 - Iran's director of Renewable Energy and Electrical Energy Efficiency Organization says that country will export power generated in renewable plants.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Sayyed Mohammad Sadeghzadeh said that over the two past years more than 11 companies launched, manufacturing renewable energy equipment.

The production lines include wind turbines, sun sheets, and such other products which will be manufacture domestically, he said.

ran is seeking 5,000 megawatts of renewable energy by 2020, with more than 4,000 megawatts expected to come from wind power. The country has approximately 141 megawatts of installed wind power.

Earlier in December, Mohammad Sadeqzadeh said people and the private sector have made a huge investment in the renewable energy industry in recent years.

Currently, 445 megawatts of renewable energy power plants are under construction in the country, and the already installed capacity has reached 670 megawatts. Accordingly, 97 renewable power plants with megawatt capacities have been built in the country so far, and 42 others are under construction.

Renewable energy has resulted in the direct and indirect employment of 43,600 people and the volume of non-governmental investment in this sector has reached more than 101 trillion rials (about $2.4 billion).

Iran enjoys a high capacity in generating electricity from sunlight, wind, and other renewable sources.
