TEHRAN, Apr 23 - Turkish Foreign Minister slammed the United States' ending waivers for importing Iran oil.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in a message condemned US anti-Iran act to end sanctions waivers on Iran oil imports. “The #US decision to end sanctions waivers on #Iran oil imports will not serve regional peace and stability, yet will harm Iranian people,” Çavuşoğlu wrote in his Twitter account on Monday, reported Iran Press.

He added: “Turkey rejects unilateral sanctions and impositions on how to conduct relations with neighbors.”

On May 8, 2018, Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was condemned by other parties to the 2015 agreement.

Despite the fact that Washington had claimed to zero Iran oil exports, the US agreed to let eight countries, including China, Japan, India and South Korea, Taiwan, Italy, and Greece keep buying Iranian oil after it reimposed sanctions on the OPEC producer on Nov. 5.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo once again in a unilateral and hostile act on Monday declared anti-Iran measure to lift sanctions waivers on buyers of Iran oil.

According to Western media, Pompeo claimed that the US had gained assurances from oil producers - namely Saudi Arabia and the UAE - to ensure a sufficient supply to minimize the impact on pricing.

He added that sanctions waiver permission will be expired on May 1 and as a result, this decision will be implemented on May 2 meaning that no permission will exist to extend these waivers.

Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the US will find out that it has taken the wrong path; he said, adding that the path will not frustrate Iranians, but will make them more prepared for maintaining closer ties with neighbors.

Commenting on the claims to cut Iranian oil to zero, President Rouhani said they have recently confessed that they will not be able to do so.

The oil will be exported in the region totally or if it is supposed to stop Iran oil exports, others will also have problems, he reiterated.
