Tehran, YJC. President Rouhani says Iran is going to improve its banking and economic relations with the EU as sanctions are lifted.
Hassan Rouhani in meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia pointed to current talks with the P5+1 and said "As relations in banking and economy improve by the first step of the negotiations, we are seeing changes in relations with the EU.”
Maintaining that the incumbent Iranian administration pursues international détente he said "Resolving regional and global issues is conceivable only through countries’ cooperation.”
The president provided comments on Iran’s geographical situation and its significance in road and railroad transportation and asserted that related cooperation can bring great opportunities to connect central Asia to Europe.
Pointing out that Latvia is going to head the EU next year, Rouhani expressed hope that Iran-Latvia relations will grow more intimate, resulting in benefit to both countries as well as to the EU.”
Rouhanis Latvian counterpart in turn said that during the country’s presiding term over the EU its relations with Iran will improve.
Edgars Rinkēvičs stated "We hope that Iran’s nuclear talks end in full success and a new chapter is opened for cooperation between the EU and Iran.”

stated, adding "It is a pity that terrorism has found its way into our region
and created problems there.”
