TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club(YJC) - Abe Shinzo made the remarks on Friday in a press conference held in Tokyo, saying that he woul visit Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly session that starts in September, Reuters reported.

“I would like to work tenaciously, and play the best possible role to ease tensions in the Middle East,” Abe told stressing that the Middle East’s peace and security links directly with Japan’s interests.

Having extensive ties with the Middle East’s countries, Japan supplies a large portion of its oil from the region, so in case of any turmoil in the region the country’s economy will face big challenges.

Unilaterally leavening Iran’s international deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the US reimposed tough sanctions on Iran, vowing to reach the country’s oil export to Zero.

The US had said that buyers of Iranian oil including the major ones -- Turkey, China, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan -- must end their purchases by May 1 or face the US sanctions.

Since November 2018 and in the aftermath of Washington’s decision, Oil prices reached their highest level.
