Tehran, YJC. Economy Minister says Iranian and Chinese presidents have agreed on some big economic projects.

Iran’s Minister of Economy says the presidents of Iran and China have agreed to infrastructural and production projects worth $70 billion.

Ali Tayyeb Nia who was speaking in a meeting with China’s new ambassador to Iran said "The surging trend of the two countries’ trade has gone from $500 million in the initial years following the revolution to $27 billion in recent years. The government and the Ministry of Economy as responsible for conducting the two countries’ economic relations believe that using new methods, the two can engage in more voluminous trade than the present.”

He further said "The provision of energy, minerals, and agricultural goods is among the most important issues for China as the world’s second largest economy. We know that China intends to make investment outside the country in order to provide answer for those needs as a country with the largest foreign reservoir volume.”

The Economy Minister maintained "Iran also owns millions of educated, cheap work force which, along the conditions emphasized earlier, enjoys a lot of potential to boost its cooperation with the People’s Republic of China."
