Tehran, YJC. The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran has just made his speech for the New Year, stressing that victory is the Iranian nation’s despite all hardship.

Ahmadinejad started his speech with a review of the past year, believing the time to have been one of hardships and, nonetheless, achievements.

Ahmadinejad said that although enemies tried hard in the past year to inflict hardships on Iran, the country has had various instances of success in different fields.

He then addressed the upcoming elections and said that the country must be ruled based on the popular opinion, "Elections are indicative of a people’s will” he asserted.

The President believed that although differences exist between groups and parties in how to run the country, the final say is the people’s.

Ahmadinejad quoted Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader as asserting to have only one vote, and that the collectivity of the nation is to choose their President.
