The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Oil Minister has said that Iran will not give up the OPEC secretariat.
Denying the news of Iran’s resignation in favor of the Iraqi representative in running for OPEC secretariat, Ghasemi said "The program for gaining the OPEC secretariat is still on.”

Answering a question if Iran-Pakistan gas contract is cancelled due to the country’s request for a price cut-down, the cabinet member asserted "The contract for export of gas to Pakistan is finalized and signed. Also the gas pipeline inside the Iranian soil is being completed and the construction of the Pakistani side will start with Iranian fund soon.

Providing comments that so far Pakistan has made no requests as to a cut-down in Iranian exported gas, Ghasemi considered the possibility of Pakistan procuring gas from the TAPPI pipeline rare and said that by the end of 2014 Iranian gas will be exported to Pakistan.

Providing comments on the gas-producing countries conference in Tehran, he said "In a meeting on the issue gas pricing policies will be discussed with other countries producing gas.”
