Tehran, YJC. Telecommunication Minister says that an application similar to Google Earth developed by Iran is going to be launched.
Dr. Mohammadhassan Nami said that as users mostly resort to
websites such as Google Earth and Wikipedia on a daily basis, Iran is going to
launch a website with the name ‘Basir’ to supply an alternative.
Nami said "The 3D map of the Earth is being prepared and now
we are looking for a proper data center where to load the data.”
Minister of Communication and Information Technology pointed
out that the young generation procure a large part of their needs from internet
websites and added "We are trying to launch in a short notes like 4 month the Islamic
google earth service as an Islamic Republic website and make it accessible
around the world.”
Nami said that while websites such as Google Earth and
Wikipedia use the global wisdom to further their goals said "But in Iran we
want to launch a service according to Islamic outlook where to put content that
will lead the world to truth. Our goal is not making profits. Our profit is
leading people to goodness.”
He further said that
Basir has divine basics which make it different from Google Earth which serves
the Zionist regime, US, and UK.
